A summary of the AGM 2019

We held our Annual General Meeting on 30 March 2019 at the Commercial Union House in Newcastle. Here is a brief account of what happened for those who couldn’t make it.  The AGM kicked off with the formal business: Claire Prospert, co-founder of NewCycling and Secretary, presented the annual report of activities and John Watson, Treasurer, outlined last year’s account which continued to be very healthy. We held our Annual General Meeting on 25 March 2018 at the Jesmond Community Library in Newcastle. It was great to see so many people for the launch of our #city4kids manifesto including and lots of families and children who came for the first time. AGM 2018 Part 2 – City4kids

At our AGM, Sally set out the context for our City4kids campaign. Back in 2015, as part of the Cycling City Ambition Fund (CCAF) bid, Newcastle City Council illustrated the impact of infrastructure improvements by using cartoons showing people’s new motivations and potential change. The CCAF cartoon character is called Susie from Jesmond. She is a young mum who drives her kids to school but doesn’t particularly enjoy the experience.
