Our 2020 Online AGM

Kidical Mass Ride – September 2022

Kidical Mass, the global movement of family friendly cycle rides, comes to Newcastle on Saturday 24 September. Newcycling, SPACE groups and local parents are supporting the three rides, which leave at 2pm from St James and St Basil's in Fenham, Gosforth Central Park in Gosforth, and St Teresa’s Church in Heaton, and finishing at Exhibition Park for cake and coffee. All welcome, come and join us to spread the message that kids, young people and families need safer streets!    

Campaign Social Evening

Let's get together! NewCycling Social Evenings are back at the Cycle Hub in the Ouseburn. Come and join us from 7pm for a drink and some snacks. We will give a quick update on active travel plans in Newcastle and the campaign going forward. Social Ride

Newcastle Civic Centre St Mary's Place, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom

The next ride will be happening on Friday 12th May, will start at the Civic Centre, take in the recently created Safer Heaton scheme, the long awaited and recently completed extension to Heaton Road’s protected cycle lane and the new installed Safer Jesmond area before heading to the Carriage, near Jesmond Metro station, for chat and discussion afterwards for those who want it. If you’d like to join the ride, meet on Ceremonial Way, outside the Civic Centre for 6:30pm on Friday 12th May. All are welcome.

Kidical Mass

Gosforth Central Park

As part of the global program of events there will be a Kidical Mass ride taking place in Newcastle on Saturday 13th May. The short family friendly ride will be leaving Gosforth Central Park at 2pm and end at Exhibition Park, where  there is a café and plenty of space and play equipment for the younger people. Everybody is welcome, but children must be accompanied by an adult.

July Social Ride

After successful rides about Heaton, Jesmond and Gosforth Campaign Chair and Social Ride organiser Lindsay is busy exploring safe and quite routes around the city for July’s ride. The next ride will be happening on Friday the 14th July, will start at the Civic Centre at 6:30pm. If you’d like to join the ride, meet on Ceremonial Way, outside the Civic Centre for 6:30pm. Summer Campaign Meetup

For our summer social event this year Sally Watson, former Cycle Campaign chair, will be give a presentation on the best of this year’s Cycle County Active County conference, which is taking place in Oxfordshire in early July. The annual conference (previously known as Cycle City when held in Newcastle in 2015) is supported by the Department for Transport as its annual active travel summit and billed as Europe’s largest annual gathering of cycling and walking professionals. Tour de Great Park

Great Park Community Centre Roseden Way, Newcastle upon Tyne

As part of the Great Park Community Summer Fayre, we'll be leading a family cycle ride around NGP. Starting and finishing at the Community Centre, the five-mile route has been designed to showcase the great range of dedicated cycle routes available around NGP. Apart from a short on-road section along Netherwitton Way, the route utilises segregated cycle paths and quiet lanes with no through traffic.
