ICE North East infrastructure debate

Linking up with engineering institutions – read about their pedal-positive State of the Nation Transport 2013 report here

Now it’s about infrastructure

The Institution of Civil Engineers’ State of the Nation event is scheduled to hold a regional workshop to analyse and grade the region’s infrastructure and formulate its position. This is an opportunity to contribute and provide input to the national report. ICE North East will also produce its own briefing sheet to complement the main report. Participants will be invited first to score and then to discuss the region’s infrastructure condition and capacity, resilience, economic and social impact, governance and regulation.

What is engineering infrastructure?

Groups will look at our energy, waste, flooding and transport infrastructure. ICE North East want to see a good attendance and standard of debate at this event and invite anyone with particular expertise or interest in any of the areas to come along. There is a short questionnaire to be completed and submitted before the event, and the link to this, and to the online booking for the event can be found at http://www.ice.org.uk/Events-conferences/Events/State-of-the-Nation-NE-Scorecard

The final report will be used to provide key information to political parties in advance of the next general election, and inform their preparation of election manifestos. Let’s hope we can secure a high quality contribution to the ICE State of the Nation 2014 Report from this region.
