31.03.2012 PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Summer of Cycling was launched at Parliament on 14 March 2012. The simple aim is to double the amount of people cycling. It’s now for local groups and people to make it happen. The Newcastle Cycling Campaign is asking all local cyclists to get a family member, a friend, a work colleague or a councillor involved in cycling, and has created an easy bike buddy sign-up form. Council meeting Brighton Grove

We’d have liked to attend. The time was prohibitive. Brighton Grove hearing of objections. Campaign has submitted their part-objection on numerous occasions and attended many meetings. We’ll keep an eye on the decisions taken by the council on this longstanding problem. It’s a shame we cannot personally attend the hearing: its daytime scheduling is prohibitive to volunteers, and we have brought this lack of inclusion to the attention of the council.
