Read more01.10.2010 PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CYCLING CAMPAIGN ROLLS INTO NEWCASTLE Friday 1 October 2010 sees the launch of a city-wide campaign for a cycle-friendly Newcastle. The Newcastle Cycling Campaign aims to improve conditions for Newcastle cyclists. In June a ‘safe cycling’ petition supported by a staggering 800 local residents was presented to a Newcastle City Council meeting and won support from Cllr Wendy Taylor (Environment Portfolio). Supporters of the petition also included Newcastle MPs Chi Onwurah and Catherine McKinnell, as well as Newcastle Councillors Stephen Psallidas and Gareth Kane.
